The glass cleaner leaves a haze, the cloth leaves lint, and dirt stays in the corners. Hot micro steam dissolves grease and dirt on glass and frame and leaves so little water that the pane wipes streak-free, entirely without cleaner. This page shows step by step how it works.

Hot, very low-water micro steam loosens grease and dirt on the glass; with a squeegee the pane wipes off streak-free, without any glass cleaner.
Glass cleaner contains surfactants. They dissolve the dirt but leave a thin film on the glass. As it dries, this film becomes visible as a haze.
Then there's the water. Too much moisture on the pane draws streaks as it dries. And in the corners, on the frame and on the rubber seals the cloth barely reaches, so the dirt stays there.

Inside the device, tap water is heated to around 180 °C. The hot, very low-water steam dissolves grease and dirt right on the glass. With the squeegee you wipe the pane in a single pass.
